We FIXED THE TEMPURPEDIC DISASTER!

If you have experienced a tempurpedic mattress that feels like it is falling apart and not doing what it did the first year you got it, we may have good news. We noticed the foundation boxes creaking and the bed peaking in the middle. The sides of the bed were like soft cream cheese and there was no support. You sunk so far into the mattress and it was so lopsided that it caused us to be sore and ache all night and each morning.

As it turns out the tempurpedic foundation boxes are made of inferior material. They bow and pit and creak after time. They are not wood based at all but cheap fiber.

We replaced them with 2 other standard box springs, went to Home Depot and had them cut two pieces of 1/4 in. MDF (Medium Density Fibre Board). Our king tempurpedic mattress measured 79" X 74". They were each cut to 74" wide. One was cut longer to accommodate body length from head to under the knee. The 2nd piece was cut to the remainder of the length of the bed. We placed these across the twin box springs, then placed the tempurpedic mattress on top.

THAT SOLVED THE PROBLEM. The bed acts as it did the first time we slept on it.

Reason: The Tempurpedic mattresses are meant to be put on a totally flat surface. A platform bed or even the floor would work. This solution cost us $50.00 and it turned out to be the best one of all we tried. We lived with the bed and back problems for 2 years before trying this. IT WORKS!!

Their customer service is the worst .You have to hang on the phone for hours. They are too stupid to have a callback so you don't have to wait on the phone.

So, we purchased our second tempurpedic because our first was a pretty good investment, although we had "bowing" due to them having sent us the wrong frame and the lengthy process it took to resolve that issue. Still, we decided to upgrade to the king size when we moved into our new home.

We had an absolute NIGHTMARE getting sleepy's to send us the correct frame and finally had to send the whole thing back and buy from another company. Alas, this solution on lasted a few months as we noticed creakks and sounds and the same "softness" on the edges and the peak in the middle. It got to the point where my partner and I no longer slept in the same bed. We were about to throw the mattress out and eat the 4k we spent on it when I stumbled upon your solution.

HOLY COW! It has only been a few nights but it is a PERFECT solution. Thank you so much for sharing!

The only suggestion I would have is that people measure their box springs for width as ours were a little wider than yours, but otherwise, you SAVED us!! Thank you so much!

I will NEVER buy from Mattress Hub again. I paid for the mattresses.

Then they told us, bauscee we was picking the mattresses up our-self, no-one was able to get them from from the warehouse bauscee the guys where gone. So we had to wait until monday. We couldn't get there Monday until after 7 pm bauscee we have to work(they close at 8pm) But they called at 6:50pm and said they was closeing early (7pm) bauscee of storms (we didn't see one raindrop). The next day we called at 9:30am (almost 48 hours later) to let them know we're on our way to pick-up the mattresses.

We was told they was waiting for us since 8am. They open at 9am. I told them I wanted my money back or the mattresses. Thats when we found that they have a no money back guarantee.

I gurarntee you will not get your money back. Even if you can't get your mattresses, you just paid for. I then had to loose my cool to get one of the guys to show up so I could go get our matterasses. When we walked out the door the owner/manager asked if I wanted to fight.

I told him as long as he hits me first. Then the lady that took our money (2 days befor) said she was calling the police and the manager said lets go get the mattresses. I followed him to a mini-storage. We got the mattresses and at that point, I did say I was sorry for my behavior.

I will never go back.

Never pay for something you don't have in front of you. Good luck to all who us them.

Defective Tempur-pedic foundation X 3

ALERT! Tempur-pedic foundation defect! We have received THREE sequential Tempur-pedic queen 5” foundation replacements in 2013, all with defective ribs or horizontal wood strips. One or both dislodge from the frame, making the foundation unstable. If you hear a creaking noise in your Tempur-pedic foundation, check for a broken rib by running your hand along the side rail. If the rib or slat has dropped below the level of the foundation frame, it is broken, and you should contact Tempur-pedic customer service for a warranty foundation replacement. We have solid steel slats bolted to the bed frame with center feet, as recommended by Tempur-pedic, so our bed frame support for the foundation and mattress is not an issue.

We also had to replace our foundation. It had terrible straw sounds which we found were fractures in the wood supports.

When we called the company, they knew right away what the problem was and sent out new foundations right away.

We have had the bed for 6 years now and while it is very comfortable, we still find it has a chemical smell. We are going to attempt to sell it on Craig's List and buy another bed.

Hate these slippers!!! DO NOT BUY DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY

I have neuropathy very bad in my feet....I paid over $70. for temprapedic slippers. Before purchasing them I called and spoke to their customer service and of course they informed me that they would be perfect...yea right I had them less then a month and the foam is now flat, no suport what so ever..tried calling and really was blown off. I've been going through chemo so thats what the neuropathy is from so I cant even use them because their unsafe because the foam is all deformed and no I did not wash them, which I was told I probably did or walked in a puddle. They are the worse slippers I ever had and due to my health problem ive tried many.

I, too bought these slippers, and they are flat as pancakes. I never thought to return them.

Also, they STINK. My feet actually are worse since wearing them--they tingle and sting and are hot.

I hate them and threw them to the back of the closet. A total waste of money.

Agonizing sleep experience

I'm a dancer. In my 58 years on the planet I never had a backache -- until I bought a Tempurpedic mattress. Now I wake up in excruciating pain every morning. My blood pressure has spiked because of sleeplessness, and I have headaches. I bought the mattress set at Sleepy's and the salesman promised I had 90 days to change my mind. I've slept on it only for a week, but I can't take much more of this torture. Back the garbage goes! It's sad how hype and a sky-high price can persuade consumers that something smelly and painful is actually "better" than what has been working for them for years. I feel totally hoodwinked. And I can barely walk, which for a dancer is a pretty unpleasant condition to be in.

30 DAYS!! Mold issues... a pump that sounds like a freakin leaf blower... and the worst foams on the market.

Maybe your delusional and didnt realize Tempur-Choice beds have more settings than sleep number and have a proven foam thats been in circulation for over 30 years. But no...

Hi,

I have not been the same since they replaced my bed with an alleged new one after the first one was determined to be faulty. My whole body aches when I wake up.

The company says that the 90 day return policy for a replacement bed does not apply and that they will not replace the bed for comfort reasons. I feel totally ripped off!!!

Even though my first bed was faulty, it was 100X more comfortable that this "new" bed - a Tempurpedic Weightless supreme. If even paid extra to upgrade to that piece of ish!!!

Must also purchase foundation to get

Granted, bought ours 10 yrs ago, just found out the real truth. when we purchased, were told we needed to also buy the foundation in order to get the 20 yr warranty. Mattress had bad large indentation on my husband's side. He's 6'3", 220#. called back then, were told to take a picture of the indentation to prove it was at least an inch deep. Yeah, that's possible. Finally bought new mattress this week, took apart foundation...cloth covering cheap, narrow wooden slats full of knots WITH A SHEET OF CARDBOARD ON TOP!!. NOT plywood - CARDBOARD!! This is the *** they said was "necessary to maintain the integrity" of the mattress! GRRRRR! the slats were badly bowed, so no wonder the mattress sagged. So ticked I wish I could sue. But I plan to spread the word about this to as many sites as I can.

Back Order/Delayed Delivery Again

Purchased two Tempurpedic mattresses, one being the Simplicity Full mattress, on Labor Day weekend, through a local mattress company in Las Vegas NV. First delivery date was scheduled on Sept 9th. Received call that the simplicity was on back order because of the sales promotion offered. New delivery date was scheduled for Sept 26th. Just received call that mattress is still on back order and will not arrive until Oct 3rd! Very frustrated and not very good customer service. I feel Tempurpedic should do what ever is necessary to produce & manufacture their product and fulfill their sales obligation to their customers. Having to wait over a month for delivery?? Come on!

Formaldehyde to name one. There is a class action law suit against tempurpedic for the dangerous VOC's that these beds are made of.

Tempurpedic has been LYING for decades about what's in their mattresses, and thousands of people have paid the price with their health.

Refund for a bed frame that we refused

We ordered a king size cloud supreme with foundation and a bed frame, when we bought our head board we did not realized that it already has a bed frame. When we got the tempurpedic bed we told the delivery guy that we will not need the bed frame since we already have it. The guy from Exel which tempurpedic used to deliver their products to their customer called tempurpedic and talked to a customer support person. I asked the exel guy to pass the phone to me so I can speak to the tempurpedic lady about the return. It was a very pleasant conversation. She told me that it will cost more money for them to ship it back so, she will just give me the refund of 89.99 + tax and I can just donate the bed frame to anyone. Two weeks after that conversation, I did not see any refund from them, so I called and as usual the wait time is about 15-20 minutes, then you get a person that can't help you because they're not the right people to answer my question, they put me on hold one more time and finally when they pick up my call there's an actual person that is supposed to be resolving this kind of issue. His name is Dan, i did not get his last name and I don't think he will give it to me. After I told him about my issue, he told me in a condescending way that there is no record of a refund on my account.So I asked him, are you telling me that the lady I talked to lied to me, and he said yes, then he realized he's not supposed to say that and said, I don't see any note of refund on your account, but I will help you, I have to call exel first and make sure you did not have the bed frame, only then we will refund you, after he said that I was waiting what's next, he was not telling me anything or explain if I should call them to follow up or do I just wait. Finally I ask, what's next, and he said if you're listening to me I already told you that's what I'm going to do. For these employee of Tempurpedic, they obviously not happy with their job, a good customer service is not their priority. I've never encountered the most condescending person, until I made this call to them. Now I regretted giving them a good rate on their survey. I should have wait before I fill that survey up.And also I am still waiting for the refund that is probably not going to happen.

Received Comfortaire Mattress and Temperpedic Base

We also spent 8,000.00 on our bed and had problems with the delivery right away. It took us over a month to even get a bed. During that time we slept on the couch and small air mattress since we already disposed of the king size bed thinking ours would be delivered soon. Well that delivery date came and went and that is when the nightmare began. When we finally got the issue resolved after a month but they pulled a fast one on us. They gave us a two different brand names to complete our bed.I am the person that always inspects things when completed but when I came home from work the bed was put up and controls connected. The only way I realized that they had not delivered a complete bed is because the mattress wasn't holding the air and I called Temperpedic to complain the customer service person said" That's not our mattress". You can imagine how pissed I suddenly became because we assumed we purchased everything from the same company. I still am fighting to get this issue resolved and it's going on 3 weeks of dead ends.

Tempur-Pedic causes back pain & headaches

Purchased Tempur-Pedic Cloud Luxe in late July. Off-gassing smell is horrible and still strong after 6 weeks. Waking up with lower back pain and severe headache's, that I never had with my conventional mattress. Salesperson at ArtVan in Michigan keeps telling me I need to give it more time, my body needs to adjust to the mattress. seems if you spend $4000 on a mattress, it shouldn't take this long to get comfortable. I am experiencing the worst sleep of my life!!!! ArtVan policy is a one time re-selection for another mattress of equal value, no return & refund. I am newly retired, this was a huge purchase and cannot afford to take a loss if I replace with a conventional mattress so looks like I am stuck.

Wish I had found this site BEFORE I purchased a Tempur-Pedic product!!!

Buyer beware - DO NOT PURCHASE TEMPUR-PEDIC, YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!

I'm getting headaches everyday since buying a Tempurpedic mattress, too. I'm achy and feel like I have a minor flu...for the past 6 weeks! I wonder if it could really be the mattress??

Just wanted to give an update on the awful 'off-gassing' smell from the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Luxe I purchased in July 2013. The odor did not dissipate and was still highly noticeable even two months after delivery.

I worked with the retailer, Art Van, to exchange the mattress for a different model. The new Tempur-Pedic was delivered this past week and after one day, there is NO ODOR AT ALL. Even the delivery people who brought the new model could smell the odor off the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Luxe they took away. Thank goodness for the very cooperative Salesperson at ArtVan Furniture, otherwise I would have been stuck with a defective product that cost $4000.

Needless to say, I am disappointed in Tempur-Pedic Customer Service for not taking this issue more seriously. I am NOT A 'sensitive little ****' as the commenter posted below, even the ArtVan salesperson who came to check out the mattress after two months of it being in my home, agreed there was an odor issue with the Tempur-Pedic Cloud Luxe and arranged to replace it with another model at no additional expense to me.

one more thing I forgot to mention. I purchased a 3 inch FeatherBed from Macy's and use that on top of the new Tempur-Pedic so I don't wake up with back pain.

Have you tried to call Tempur-Pedic to see if anything could be done? They have a Facebook page, a Twitter account, and a website with phone numbers to call. I'm sure they could help you.

Bought tempura mattresses for daughter and myself 2 years ago.Can't say they are more comfortable, pretty much the same. CAN SAY THEY HAVE MADE MY LIFE ***! I didn't research this product - big mistake. No information was forthcoming regarding the chemicals or THAT SMELL.In the last two years I have had problems with bad odours around the house. Sometimes much much worse than others. I worked out where they were coming from upstairs, at times it was so bad in the downstairs hallway, I had to open the front-door to get some relief!In the past two years, I have renewed all bedding, mattress protectors, duvets etc. I have replaced my daughters bedroom carpet thinking that something must have been spilled and not properly cleaned. This made no difference. I then threw out a perfectly good sofa from my daughters room, again blaming her. Smell still there. Getting desperate now! so needlessly re-carpeted my bedroom, no difference. I have done all the extra cleaning I could, pulled out wardrobes etc looking in case something had died and was decomposing - honestly it has been that bad.As the weather became colder this winter, I noticed this smell was back, really bad. It made me think. I am a fresh air fanatic (even before this fiasco) My bedroom windows are always open day and night (always have been) but I had the flu and the shivers that go with it, so my bedroom windows had been closed. The smell wasn't just coming from my daughters room it was from mine as well. The only thing in common in our rooms were the mattresses. I hadn't got the link before because my bedroom was always well aired.I tried neutrodol powder all sorts of air fresheners, nothing made a difference. I felt a little *** but thought I'd look online to see if anyone else had thought these mattresses smelled. I couldn't believe my eyes, so many complaints, so many concerns about the chemicals used.YES these mattresses do smell. Quite a few articles say the smell goes after a few weeks or months. I have certainly NOT found this to be the case. Two years and a small fortune before it even occurred to me that it was the new mattresses that were giving off the smell. Many sites recommend using Baking Soda and plenty of airing, and I WAS going to try this. Until, after reading more articles regarding the chemicals and their possible effects on health. Following two lots of blood tests, my Daughter had her bi-annual health check yesterday. It was found that problems with her thyroid gland are increasing - again - despite every effort to keep it in check. Today, I read these mattresses can cause problems with the Thyroid! AND - the two year time line here is more than ringing bells!These mattresses are GOING - to the tip, where they belong. 'PISSED' is an understatement!

I wake up in TEARS as a result of my Tempurpedic bed

Tempurpedic replaced the first faulty bed that I paid $4,000 for that was under their 20 year warranty. The original bed was sunken in after using it for 2 years. When I received the "new" bed. OMG!!! I have not had a decent night's sleep since. My back hurts, my neck hurts, my hips hurt all as a result of that bed. I was not even able to function at work from tossing and turning trying to get comfortable in the bed. I called the company in tears saying that I could not function during the day because I could not get a decent nights sleep. They basically told me TOO BAD! We don't replace mattresses for comfort reasons. I asked that the problem be escalated. The customer service person laughed in my face and said there was nothing that she was going to do and that I was stuck with the "new" bed that I paid and additional $600 to upgrade to a "better" thicker mattress. TEMPURPEDIC sucks!!!! What ever you do don't buy one. If you own their stock, short it. They should be run out of business. My quality of life deteriorated since I got that bed. I am convinced that it is evil and so is the Tempurpedic company!!!!!!!

We bought this due to my back issues and it has gotten worse. I literally toss in the middle of the night in severe pressure point pains.

I am in physical therapy for my oelvis and spine twice a week. This bed has not gotten softer after 9 months and even my husband is not experiencing back pain that he has never had before.

I have had nothing but problems too. Got a tide of our older mattress which was still really firm and bought the temp.

Omg my back locks p and I can't move . It is very painfull.

Takes me a hour just to get my back stretched out in order to move around. My husband refused to sleep I the bed and has now called the canal couch his new bed.

Tempurpedic poor quailty

Purchased 2 XL twin mattresses in 2002, sold with a 20year warranty. Mattresses have split apart and are pealing. The tags on the mattresses say the distributor was Tempur-pedic. Unfortunately, after so many years I am unable to locate a receipt showing the purchase. Very disappointed in the product. Did not live up to the claims. My son's also purchased Tempur-pedic mattresses, both of theirs had to be replaced for the same reason. Spoke with the people at Newport Bedding, they have discontinued the line for the same reasons. Will never purchase Tempurpedic again, not as advertised.. Don't be fooled.

Thanks to Margret from Tempurpedic for clearing up our order. It took over a week for the original order to come in, but Margret had ordered a new mattress for us.

Margret was the easiest person to deal with from Tempurpedic & she made me & my wife keep our business with her company. Margret deserves praise from her work on our order because we were close to moving on to another company....thanks again Margret!Reply

The delivery of our mattress and foundation was scheduled to deliver on Friday July 19, 2013. Delivery truck arrived aprox 4pm with only the foundation and No mattress. No mattress was on their order. Fri, Sat and Monday my husband and myself have been consistently calling trying to resolve the matter. On Friday a rep said she was going to research and would call us back and NEVER did also, keep in mind they delivered at the endof the week and the end of the day, which left us very little time to get intouch with someone, how you deliver a product and not have anybody to call if it is not correct. Anyway every time you call Tempurpedic customer service they act like they don't really care, the response is " we are doing all we can do" there is nothing more that can be done. They stated on Monday July 22. 2013 they are doing a document search and it could take up to 24 hrs. We Spent over 8,000 on this bed and this place acts like they are doing US a favor and Tempurpedic acts as if they could care less about their customers.

Joint pain

Bought a tempur-pedic mattress for $2500 5years ago. The mattress has broken down and become very soft. I feel like I am melting into it. It has caused hip, back and leg pain for me. It was the worst investment that I have ever made. I am going to replace it as soon as I can afford to. It is the worst mattress ever. I cannot imagine how this company has stayed in business. I bought this at Art Van furniture. I am going to talk to a sales person to see if they will give me a deal on another mattress. I am not interested in trying another tempur pedic, as I already know that they are awful and do not last

Worst mattress, waste of money

It took me 3 years to pay the $3000 I spent on this mattress, thinking it would be worth it for the supposedly great sleep benefits. Coincidentally (?) that is about the same length of time it took for the mattress to become unbearably uncomfortable. I am now stuck with a giant, expensive, monstrosity that I dread getting into at night. There are holes where we sleep, that slowly grow deeper and that cannot be avoided. We spend many nights trying to avoid "falling into" these holes, only to roll in anyway and wake up with sore backs and necks. The Tempurpedic warranty only covers VISIBLE depressions of .75 inches or deeper. Our mattress does not meet these criteria and yet it is really unusable. The only reason we still have it is because we are not rich and cannot afford to throw out a $3000 mattress that has only been used for 5 years. I am furious that this expensive mattress is a waste of money and that there is no recourse. I am mad that I have to wake up with a headache every morning because the spinal alignment claims of this product are bogus. The only thing I can do is warn others not to be suckered in by the fancy claims of Tempurpedic.
