Tempurpedic=no comfort, hideously hot!

We purchased a tempurpedic bed the contour signature from a local furntiture store. The bed felt good when we layed on it in the store. We purchased it a few days later over the phone. Therefore, we were not informed about the 30 day sleep period where you have to sleep on it for 30 days. Initially, lots of aches and pains and sinking into the bed. Difficult to roll out of the hole that your body makes in the foam. Like rolling uphill in your sleep. Each time you move, you have to wait until your body makes a "new hole" to sleep in. Super uncomfortable. Two weeks into our sleep trial, we began experiencing stiff sore necks. Salesman says we need new pillows when we just spent $3000 on the bed! After over 30 days, we still have sore necks and are having a difficult time finding a bed to exchange it for. Super hot!! By the middle of the night, I have to be uncovered which makes whatever is not touching the bed too cold. The hot and cold effect gives me the chills so then I just suffer through the hot. Salesman now says we can buy a cooling mattress pad. Who knows if those work. Bottom line: Tempurpedic does not honor their refund policy if you buy it from a local store so check their policies well. They seem to be dishonest and misleading at best.

If you purchased from a retail store, then you have to go back to the retailer for refund and you must abide by the store's policies. Tempur-Pedic took my mattress back with no hassels at more than 60 days from when I purchased it.

If you purchase furniture from Macy's, you don't make the manufacturer take it back...you make Macy's take it back.

It has nothing to do with the manufacturer. Simple.

so what im hearing here is u picked the wrong mattress. there are 14 different models to choose from they do not sleep hot they do not get any hotter than your body temperature.

there are many different cooling mattress protectors out there and they do work. tempur pedic does honor ALL refunds but they do have a $295 restocking fee you didnt pick the right mattress cant blame tempur pedic for that!!!

i sleep on a tempur pedic and i love it doesnt sleep hot cause i only sleep w a sheet even in the dead of winter. they get room temperature only remember that

We tried this out in the store and selected this model based on a few hours of testing. We got it at home and my wife liked it, I wasn't so sure but it had a trial period so we kept it. During the trial period I traveled a bit and she still liked it. I was just OK...

Yes.... My ignorance of how to use the remote... But also the ignorance of a few Tempur Pedic customer service reps I spoke with and even the technicians they sent to my home who replaced the entire controller and remote.

And the rhapsody got significantly firmer with the windpws open when the room was cold (45 degrees). When it gets that hard it retains more body heat and for a longer period of time.

So you can say BS all you want but this is my experience with the mattress. If you don't find it helpful or it differrs from yours that's fine but it isn't BS.

TempurPedic in Boston, Massachusetts - Achy back and hips

I purchased the Tempurpedic Cloud and assumed I'd get used to it in time. It's been three years and I still don't find it comfortable. It doesn't provide the back support I was expecting. My lower back and hips are more achy after purchasing this mattress. I find my sofa provides more support. I would not recommend this mattress. I thought I did my homework on my purchase. I thought theme bad reviews were from those with serious back problems. I think I have back problems now. Read all reviews before you make your decision. This purchase was the wrong one for me.

I have herniated disc since 2004, however I used to get stuck once a year due to sudden moves. I would take my muscle relaxer and I used to be 100% again.

In 2012 I bought a Tempurpedic Cloud mattress. I thought let me spend some money with a good mattress as I have back problems. At the beginning it felt so good, I didn't want to leave the bed, after 8 months I started having some discomfort and now I have a chronic pain on my left hip.

I never had such a pain like this one, I have gone to so many doctors and no one seems to be able to help me.

I am so sure that this mattress is the cause of my hip pain as when we are sleeping you sink and because the hip area is heavy the spine is not aligned.

I hate this bed SO MUCH!!! Sales people should be instructed to do not sell this bed for people with back pain.

One more thing their Customer Service is no good either, if you call to put a complain they will ask you to take a picture of the mattress in different angles so they can evaluate and take from there. Tempurpedic you should be ashamed for causing so much pain in people's life. No one should play with people's health.

Lets trade. You can have my wifes and mine Queen size, if I can have yours.

I believe age might be a factor.

I'm only 24. It probably kicks asss.

Tempurpedic Service consistently sub par

I have been selling Tempurpedic pillows for year and now Tempurpedic will only allow me to purchase 24 pillows at one time despite living outside of North America and the high shipping costs. Not only that but the last 3 orders all had major issues. 1 was delivered to Nebraska and my shipping agent address is NJ when questioning CS they made it sound like it was my fault yes all addresses were correct. 2 They cancelled an order because they claimed it was a duplicate and the products never shipped with the rest of the order AND they didn't me so I was charged warfage fees waiting for a shipment consolidation. After contacting CS they wouldn't apologize, rectify and gave no explanation after 3 attempts. 3 Cancelled an order didn't notify, but did refund my credit card. I WISH there was another company that provided this product, I'd pay more not to deal with Tempurpedic. Guess they aren't feeling the recession!

TempurPedic, Worst Cunstomer Service ever

Not sure if they'll let this stay up but i had to share anywhere i can that Tempur-Pedic, while a great product, has horrible customer service and a totally worthless warranty. We purchased a bed locally that was discontinued. Pillow-Top, firm, closest match is the Allura. Ours had significant sagging and they agreed to warranty, as long as we chose from the Rhapsody or lower. None of those mattresses had the firmness or the pillowtop like ours did. The upgrade, the difference in their list prices between the ALlura and Rhapsody, i think it was $500 for the King. They charged me the difference in what I paid for mine 5 years ago and the current LIST price you would pay at the store, almost $3,000 difference. Fair is fair but when you buy a whole new bedroom suit on sale 5 years ago and then are expected to pay full retail price to get the same item 5 years later, somethings wrong. And their warranty "manager", wow, totally rude and told me there was nobody else to even talk to, refused to even let me try and talk to someone higher. ALthough it is a great product and has helped me sleep, it will be the last time we honor Tempur-Pedic with our financil support. They made out all the way around, sold the first bed to the retailer and then charged the full retail price on the second one making the profit the retailer would have made. SUmmary, great bed as long as you don't have to deal with their warranty department.

TempurPedic in Leicester, England - Linda

Bought tempura mattresses for daughter and myself 2 years ago. Can't say they are more comfortable, pretty much the same. CAN SAY THEY HAVE MADE MY LIFE ***! I didn't research this product - big mistake. No information was forthcoming regarding the chemicals or THAT SMELL.In the last two years I have had problems with bad odours around the house. Sometimes much much worse than others. I worked out where they were coming from upstairs, at times it was so bad in the downstairs hallway, I had to open the front-door to get some relief! In the past two years, I have renewed all bedding, mattress protectors, duvets etc. I have replaced my daughters bedroom carpet thinking that something must have been spilled and not properly cleaned. This made no difference. I then threw out a perfectly good sofa from my daughters room, again blaming her. Smell still there. Getting desperate now! so needlessly re-carpeted my bedroom, no difference. I have done all the extra cleaning I could, pulled out wardrobes etc looking in case something had died and was decomposing - honestly it has been that bad.As the weather became colder this winter, I noticed this smell was back, really bad. It made me think. I am a fresh air fanatic (even before this fiasco) My bedroom windows are always open day and night (always have been) but I had the flu and the shivers that go with it, so my bedroom windows had been closed. The smell wasn't just coming from my daughters room it was from mine as well. The only thing in common in our rooms were the mattresses. I hadn't got the link before because my bedroom was always well aired.I tried neutrodol powder all sorts of air fresheners, nothing made a difference. I felt a little *** but thought I'd look online to see if anyone else had thought these mattresses smelled. I couldn't believe my eyes, so many complaints, so many concerns about the chemicals used.YES these mattresses do smell. Quite a few articles say the smell goes after a few weeks or months. I have certainly NOT found this to be the case. Two years and a small fortune before it even occurred to me that it was the new mattresses that were giving off the smell. Many sites recommend using Baking Soda and plenty of airing, and I WAS going to try this. Until, after reading more articles regarding the chemicals and their possible effects on health. Following two lots of blood tests, my Daughter had her bi-annual health check yesterday. It was found that problems with her thyroid gland are increasing - again - despite every effort to keep it in check. Today, I read these mattresses can cause problems with the Thyroid! AND - the two year time line here is more than ringing bells! These mattresses are GOING - to the tip, where they belong. 'PISSED' is an understatement!

It took me 3 years to pay the $3000 I spent on this mattress, thinking it would be worth it for the supposedly great sleep benefits. Coincidentally (?) that is about the same length of time it took for the mattress to become unbearably uncomfortable. I am now stuck...

TempurPedic in Saint Petersburg, Florida - Cloud Supreme Hurts

Been sleeping on this mattress for over a yr now. It's hot, it sags where I sleep but is still comfortable & supportive in the middle & the edges. I'm as upset as everyone else who wasted thousands in this poor economy. The mattress looks perfect after I get up but will be talking to customer svc anyway to see if I can get a firmer one. I'll have to exchange because there's no way I can get my money back. Too bad for me. Beware - the good supportive feeling you get in the store won't last - and then comes the pain.

TempurPedic in Hampton, New Hampshire - Oh the agony

Was sold on the promise that this would be the best mattress for my back problems (two discectomies, degenerative disc disease). We've had the mattress for five years and I have been reduced to sleeping on the sofa. I couldn't even lay on the bed without pain in my hips, lower back, and shoulders. When laying on my back, the pressure point on my elbows would cause tingling plus tingling in my feet. Also, we have a dip in the middle which was a selling point that that would not happen with this mattress. I would not recommend this torture device to anyone. A rock would be more comfortable.

I was considering purchasing one of these beds, after a wonderful experience with a Tempurpedic during a hotel stay. Thank you for sharing your experiences here.

I wondered about the heat issue AND the outgassing. I'm almost tempted to go and spend a few hours wasting the salesperson's time, only to elsewhere for a normal mattress.

Good luck to you all. With any luck, someone will start a class action law suit you can join.

and spent $3000 on a new Tempurpedic mattress and adjustable base. I have had it for almost 18 months now and have grown to hate it.

I developed back problems after sleeping on the mattress. I know shuffle around like an old lady because my back and hips hurt so much. Thought this would be the best thing ever. Toss and turn in bed which is difficult.

No recourse. Don't waste your money.

What a rip off! :cry
