Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody did not last 4 years.

My wife and I purchased split king Tempur-Pedic Rhapsody complete with individual adjustable bases and was happy with our purchase for about 3 years. After that things have gone down hill quickly.

Do not depend on Tempur's warranty it does not cover the problems we have with the mattresses.

We purchased the Rhapsody because we like a firm bed. Starting about the third year the bed just started getting soft and continues to get softer each passing day.

It has gotten so bad that sitting on the bed you sink over 6 inches of the 11 inch thickness. It did not do that when it was new.

The problem is it returns back to it's normal shape like it was never slept/sat on. That is why the warranty is worthless. Tempur only covers it if it does not return to within 3/4 of the inch to its original shape.

Bottom line is the bed has little support. You just sink into it and not evenly creating joint problems over time.

Each of us not realizing started sleeping in different not normal positions trying to get a good night sleep. Over time this has cause joint pains in both of us.

Now that we have figure that the bed is causing both of us pains and while we are searching for a replacement. We decided to turn the mattress over and sleep on the hard foam side not the memory foam. Our sleep and pains greatly improved but the mattress is a little unstable with the memory foam down.

Bottom line, If you like a firm bed do not purchase a Tempur-Pedic. They say it is a 20+ year mattress we did not get 4 years before we needed to replace it.

We spent over $4,000.00 for the Rhapsody split king and did not get 4 years out of it. We are now waiting on delivery of a $1,000.00 Beautyrest split King. I have a feeling we will get much more than 4 years out of it. We are staying away from memory foam.

Our track record has been we got 18 years out of our Sterns and Foster queen, Replaced with Symbol 12 years a go and still have it in our guessed bed room (guest love it). Decided to upgrade to a King less than 4 years ago getting the Rhapsody and is now considered garbage.

Hope this helps,

I also have the Rhapsody mattress, for about 5 years. At first it was very comfortable.

Recently I have been waking up with lower back pain, so I suspect it is sagging in that area.

I have just turned the mattress 180 degrees and am hoping this will help for a while.

Guest

We had the same experience. After reading some other complaints, we can still be happy for not being poisined by the chemicals released by this mattress.

Still who knows may be some of my health problems might be because of it.I don't want to see any Tempur all my life.

Hard to learn but, expensive mattress has nothing to do with quality.

Guest

I would not recommend a tempur-pedic mattress to anyone! I have had mine for 6 years and every night I dread going to bed.

The mattress has gotten very soft where I sleep. I can hardly turn over because I'm in such a deep hole. The foam is very soft after just a few minutes in bed, but it pops back up nice and flat during the day.

My back really hurts when I get up and I don't stay asleep for more than 3 hours at a time...because I am so uncomfortable. It was great when we first got it...but it is worthless after 5 or 6 years when it is supposed to last for 20!

Don't waste your hard earned money on this product.

I wanted to add we both are experiencing significant back pain. It is not just a preference for softness as the warranty suggests.

Guest

This is our exact problem! However we have the original least expensive mattress and it lasted about 7 years before becoming so soft we would rather sleep on the floor.

I laughed at the part about turning it over because I suggested that to my husband this morning. We currently have the mattress on the floor so we could take pictures for the warranty but since it returns to its original shape we have no recourse. When I step on the mattress my food sinks to the floor.

The edges of the bed are still firm. We used to love this mattress.

Guest

We had the same experience after owning the mattress for 6 years. You can feel the difference in firmness as the mattress is breaking down in the center.

As you have experienced, our springs back also. It is just loosing the firmness and has cause aches and pains.

Guest

we bought the "Advantage" tempur from the brick. Second week in the thing was so soft it put my bakc out of joint and started causing me major hip pain.

We took it back for a normal mattress, but one year later i am still in pain from that awful tempurpedic period. we also tried flipping it upside down but even that didn't make it firm enough.

You can't sleep on these mattresses because they are so HOTTTTTTTT. Hate it. Never recommend, plan to tell everyone I know not to buy. Influenced to buy at friends' and doctor's recommendation. Be sure to buy this mattress from the online site because they have a 90-day return policy which makes sure you can get your money back. They are also coming out with a "cool" rendition of the mattress and that may be helpful but not to us. Try good, firm interspring mattress before you get one of these. Maybe find a hotel with one you like.

Any of you that are reading these threads trying to decide what to buy, you need to take the time to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH on what you are purchasing. I know this is America but homework did not stop at high school!

This comment regarding tempur's being too hot is just another example of someone raging because they did not do the research prior to just dropping 5k on an item. Memory foam mattresses sleep hotter that traditional mattresses, that is simply a common trait that memory foam shares. I absolutely LOVE my Temp Cloud Supream. I have had it for about 2 years and JUST ordered the ERGO advanced system, that is how happy and confident I am.

You all need to READ ALL the info. Look into the fine print warranty as that is also where a lot of these comments come from. Let me ask you all something...

Where can you find any given item with a 100% 20 year warranty? DO YOU OWN RESEARCH, OR DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN THINGS DON'T GO YOUR WAY!

Guest

Maybe you should take yur anger out on the friend and doctor as well. Why not drop them andtrash talk about them to everyone.

They recommended it to you.

Some people need to grow up and be responsible for their own decisions and stop blaming everyone. That is the problem with our whole society these days....no personal responsibility,

Guest

I'm a hot sleeper and I've had no major issues with my Tempur-Pedic as far as heat goes for the most part. The only difference I've noticed is that with a Tempur-Pedic you sleep "in the bed" instead of on-the-bed, thus more surface area of your body touches the bed. Also since you are experiencing better blood circulation as compared to a traditional spring mattress, you might feel some warmth.

That being said I did add an Ultra-Tech Cool Sleep Mattress Protector to my Tempur and I have not noticed any heat issues - even minor - since. Gardner's Mattress and More in Lancaster, PA sells these with a 100% money back guarantee if you don't feel you are sleeping cooler, and they can ship anywhere in the USA.

I've also tried the new Breeze beds from Tempur. These are the ones designed to sleep cooler, and they definitely are cooler. I would only recommend these for the truly hot sleeper or someone with hot-flashes as you sleep noticeably cooler all night.

TEMPUR-PEDIC Service after sale is disgracful

We purchased a n adjustable bed and Tempur-pedic mattress two year ago. The bed got stuck in the up position. I called customer service and was told the bed is out of warranty but they would send me the part for $25.00 and they would walk me through the installation. This meant I had to somehow turn the bed on it's side to install the part. My wife and I are senior citizens and found this task impossible. The customer service gave me a name of a repair man in my area. I called this person and came to our home, installed the part by jacking up the bed on one side. The cost was $165.00 for the repair man plus the $25.00 for the part. I expect the bed to stop operating anytime because the security seal on the part I received was broken. The label said if this seal is broken do not install. The repair man said that does not mean anything, most of them come through broken. I wonder why they want the old unit returned, a return shipping label was supplied. I cannot recommend their adjustable bed. On another matter the mattress is sagging on my wife's side of the bed to the point that she is unable to turn over due to the high point on her right. My wife is partially handicapped to the point if she falls on the floor she cannot get up without help. I called customer service and was told the mattress is in warranty and they would send me instruction by e-mail for the procedure to get a new mattress. I asked if they had a representative to come to my home and look at the mattress. I was told they do not have employees for this purpose. The instruction require the mattress cover be removed, a broom stick or similar device placed across the sunken area and a quarter(coin) be placed between the mattress and broom stick, a picture taken and sent to Tempur-pedic along with a copy of the receipt. This again is an impossible request since we don't own an instant camera and can only do e-mail and search the web. We thought we were purchasing a top of the line bed and find it is a piece of junk.

Horrible Pain

I bought a top of the line Tempurpedic for all of its "benefits" for spinal support. I have NEVER BEEN in so much pain. I am a side sleeper and BOTH of my shoulders DISLOCATE at night with this bed!! Additionally, I have developed both "golfers elbow" and "tennis elbow" in BOTH of my elbows. I literally cannot use my arms without excruciating pain. I have had multiple cortisone shots in my elbows and will probably need surgery on my shoulders to fix the damage. I cannot afford to replace this mattress set! I cannot BELIEVE this is the result of a mattress that is supposed to be so good for your spine! If there are a lot of us, we ought to file a Class Action Law Suit against this company.

I agree. This bed *** sucks.

I wake up and can't feel my arms or hands The pain in my elbows is off the charts.. This is absolutely crazy. I feel like I have permanent damage. Almost $5k spent and am absolutely miserable.

Not to mention the overall body pain. I have resorted to the couch. Now I have to figure out what to do with this giant peice of ***!!! I am livid.

I want to get involved with any lawsuit out there.

This is at the very least fraud and quite possibly a more severe crime by knowingly causing physical damage to perfectly normal people with no pre existing ailments.. I want my money back and pain and suffering from the time this bed came into my life....horrible!!

Bought "The CelebrityBed" Tempur-Pedic Mattress in 9/99 and it has been a pain. Tried to take back, but they would only let me trade down with another Matt.I went back to store 3 days after I bought it,and was told it needed to break in.

I bought this mattress for, I am disabled with my back, plus it is beginning to sag where I sleep and also where my wife sleeps. Going to try to use the warranty and hope that works. This Mattress is killing my shoulders, arms and back.I sleep on my side and can not sleep on my back.

This might be a good Mattress if you could only sleep on your back. :sigh

I am disabled and was suckered into the adjustable Tempurpedic.

The adjustable went out after 1 year and the motor needed replacing and now my wife and I both get the worse back pain from these so called GREAT mattresses. I cant sleep more than 6 hours without being woke up with pain that wraps all around my body from this mattress.

I know its the mattress we traded from using the most comfortable latex mattresses in the world to these Tempurpedic things that were all talked up.

My wife gets the same pain from it. I'll wake up at times and find her asleep on the couch due to teh pain Tempurpedic causes.

Tempurpedic mattress worst mattress ever

This is absolutely the worst mattress I have ever owned! After months the smell is still stinking up the

house, and it is the most uncomfortable bed, I wake up with a back ache everyday. I thought after it

was broken in it would be more comfortable boy was I wrong! I have been sleeping on the sofa for days

now and getting better sleep than I have had in 10 months of trying to deal with this stinking piece of **** I am looking to get rid of the bed, this is the worst $6000. dollars I have ever spent.

Tempurpedic is full of toxic cancer causing chemicals like formaldehyde

AVOID buying one at all costs!

Guest

When will everyone come to the light and just get what's been working for decades - a latex mattress. No toxic smell, no durability issues and comfort beyond belief.

Search "50 year latex" and watch the video that documents what I'm telling you. Best kept secret in the mattress industry.

Guest

The salesman was being less than hoesnt with you. You should complain to the store management. If you have a medical condition that required you to purchase a special mattress then, and only then, can you include it on Schedule A under medical expense.

Total medical expenses must exceed 7.5% of adjusted gross before any income deduction is allowed, and only the amount greater than the 7.5% is allowed as a deduction. Medical expenses are an income credit, not a tax credit, meaning it reduces your taxable income.

Also, you must itemize deductions to file a Schedule A. If you take the standard deduction you cannot claim medical deductions on Schedule A.

Guest

I have had this mattress for almost two years and wake up every morning with a back ache. Im to the point that I took a night shift just soI don't have to sleep in it. My husband does not believe me and I'm glad I'm not the only one that has this issue.

Guest

Im begining to realise most of these complaints are bogus from competitors or sales people with a hidden motive and agenda.

TEMPERPEDIC is still numero uno.

Guest

I purchased a tempurpeduc few years ago, store had 90 day sleep test n money back guarantee, so I spent the 4000 dollars got 2 free 100.00 pillows and gave it a try, in the store the bed I tested was so comfortable but after mine was delivered, it was a nightmare, the mattress was extremely hard, gave me back aches and body pains, felt as tho I'd been badly beaten with a bag of Rocks, I complained to mattress dealer, she said give it 30 days, I tried another few nights then called to return it because nothing changed, the dealer became angry and hostile, saying the mattress has to be broken in, do in and do forth, then they said they could give me a partial refund... I put all my complaints in writing, I had took a photo of the 90 day sleep trial guarantee they had posted, and I called diamond certified reps to make a formal complaint against company, I did get a full refund 10 days later, but they asked for. Used pillows back and were so nasty I gave up in tempurpedic, later I found out from another very informative tempurpedic retailer that the mattresses respond to body heat and warm room conditions, mine was in a master bedroom with a wide patio window which was always cold so the firm mattress was always extra firm and yes he said it would've ways been unbearable!

Update

Because I wanted a tempurpeduc so bad after a year I researched it again and found that they had a newine out called the cloud, I tried in several stores over a period of 3 months before buying, gathering info from all different retailers, it was agreed amongst all that the cloud luxe was the best and do u forked out 4000 for it and another 3500 for ergo mastic adjustable cs king frame, I questioned about my cold room with patio window but was told it wouldn't be a problem, I got 2 free 100.00 pillows, free leg extenders for frame, 200.00 water proof mattress protector n free divery, it is the most comfortable nights sleep I have ever had, no aches no pains, no complaints, so my poi t is if you have a bad e Kerrie ce with one retailer don't let that ruin your entire product experience, tempurpedics are good beds, you just have to find the one for your body type and preference, I don't have a problem with over warmth because as I said my room is essentially cool, I love it, and if I have any problems I direct them to the retailer I purchased from, they stand behind what they sell and reccommend!

Tempurpedic's advertising is false & misleading

In May 2008 we purchased a Tempur-pedic mattress from Sleep Country USA at the Jantzen Beach Store in Portland, Oregon. I had told the salesman that we wanted the firmest version possible and he stated that the Classic 9" Queen Mattress was the firmest of the line. We proceeded to purchase this bed along with a Tempur-pedic queen foundation and a queen frame with wheels. The total price was $2058.95 plus sales tax of $168.83. We also purchased a premium queen mattress Tempur-pedic mattress cover for $119.95. In very small print on the bottom of the sales receipt (which we did not notice until later) for both the bed and the mattress cover, we later discovered a notation that reads: "There are no product returns." This did not cause us concern because Tempur-edic ads guaranteed satisfaction with the bed, had a 90-day money-back guarantee, and had been given rave reviews by numerous local radio personalities who claim to own one, as well as seeing it highly praised in Good Housekeeping magazine. We were told that it would take several weeks to "break it in." What we were not told about was the incredible chemical stench that emanates from the bed. I called Sleep Country and complained about this and was told it would wear off. I asked about putting a zippered allergy-proof mattress cover over the mattress but was told that would "invalidate the warranty." We also found that the bed wold become quite squishy after sleeping on it for a few hours. I called Sleep Country again and was told that I had not given it enough time. I finally sent an email to Tempur-pedic and the response said that I should add a mattress pad and/or blanket under the sheet and that this would make the bed feel firmer and cut down on odor. This is what they wrote in their email: "I would be happy to assist you in making your mattress feel more comfortable. It appears from your email that you feel the mattress is too soft. "I would like to suggest that you add a layer between yourself and the mattress such as a traditional mattress pad or possibly a blanket. Doing this should cut down on the amount of body heat the mattress gets and in turn should make the mattress feel firmer. "Also check to make sure your bedroom is within our recommended temperatures, we recommend the bedroom is between 65 and 72 degrees, any warmer than this could cause the mattress to feel softer." Apparently Tempur-pedic beds do not work in warmer climates. We tried all their recommendations but it did not eliminate the problem. I had no idea that body heat could make the bed go soft, and hot flashes at night simply worsened the problem. Eventually Tempur-pedic offered to give us another mattress but by then we had sold this one on Craig's list (for ¼ of what we paid for it) and bought another bed. Since then I have met three other individuals who have experienced the exact same problems and got rid of the beds. These are very expensive beds and it should be made very clear to potential buyers that the beds have a significant chemical odor for some time and that they lose their firmness in temperatures over 65 degrees.

Bought a Bob~opedic queen mattress@***s discount furniture in NJ.$1450.00 for everything.Did not love it at first~barely liked it.Its now 8 mos later&I've grown to love it.What firm, supple support! Some warm nights I don't use the a/c&I have no issues with this,as I've read others have.I had setup problems&a broken box spring that had to be repaced,& now I love that mattress.Others feel rediculously soft.

Guest

No kidding, I have to agree with DanD. The TINIEST bit of research on your part would have revealed these beds are temperature sensitive both to your body temp and the ambient room temp. Hope you learned something from this expensive mistake, but I would hardly blame the manufacturer.

Guest

With all due respect if you weren't told about the conditions of owning a tempur-pedic that's not the manufacturers fault that's the salesperson. I've been selling them for over 7 years now and I make sure that my clients have a full understanding of what it's like to own this bed.

If your salesperson didn't let you know that the bed was temperature sensitive and that it would react to your body based on blood flow and temperature he was just bad at his job. These beds have done incredible things for millions of people and I'm very sad to see that someone didn't do their job properly in explaining it to you.

Tempur Pedic Sucks

I spoke to several people that used the Tempur Pedic beds and all raved about it. I purchase the Ergo Adjustable bed with separate controls for raising the head and foot 6 months ago at a very high price tag. Needless to say it has been the biggest mistake I ever made. The bed is as hard as a rock and forced me to add a separate foam pad to try and get it more comfortable, it's like sleeping on a concrete floor. The mattress sinks where ever your body makes contact and becomes a sink hole. I don't move much while I sleep so every joint in my shoulders, hips, lower back becomes painful and and wakes me up or makes it difficult to walk when I get up.

I get better sleep on a hotel mattress. If could do it over I would never buy one of these mattresses.

DO NOT BUY THIS MATTRESS!!!

Hate it. Had it for 9 years and now realize it’s like sleeping in *** I sink in and can’t move around so I end up sore and achy. Just bought a regular coil wrap mattress and cannot wait until they take away the foam beast.

Allean Teo

Worst thing we have ever done is to buy the garage of a mattress. We’re in our 50’s and feel like everyday. Even adding extra additional foams doesn’t help!

Me Too...

Guest

One hundred percent agree, I got o e toosame problem

Guest

I tried to take mine back 4 times during the trial period. They kept telling me to try different things to break in the bed.

Finally the last time i went back they said that the trial time had expired and there is nothing they could do. Since then my wife and i have suffered from bad back pain and terrible sleep.

Worst bed we have ever had. We're stuck with it because we cant afford another bed.

Guest

I ordered a set of legs

They sent me a sleep mask

Called them and emailed they email me back they dont take returns

I never got what I ordered

I disputed with Amex

Then tempurpedic sends me to collections after never responding to Amex Taking them to court via amex

Guest

We returned ours as soon as possible - it was so hot and firm that we couldn't sleep.

Guest

Totally agree - I regret the day I purchased this mattress. Mine is not adjustable.

It provides no support. The "sinking in"'causes great pain in joint and lower back.

Guest

Yes we need a class action suit this is the biggest mistake Ive made in my life. I work 2 jobs and need my rest. I find myself sleeping on my sofa just to get a good night rest.

My wife and I purchase our Tempurpedic Ergo 5years ago. I suffer with chronic back before the purchase.

My wife complaint first about discomfort of the pillow which cause her neck to hurt and ache. She change pillow and the neck problem went away. Now we both are suffering from pains in our hip and back. The pains that we are experience is exact issues.

The pain feel like its in your bones tremble, excursion pain. Especially after we have slept in it for some hours. 5000.00 dollars threw away not including the health issues. We thought we were buying something health for my back pain, it hurt worst than ever.

Need class action law suit. BUYER BEWARE

MISERABLE IN HOUSTON ON OUR TEMPUR CLOUD MATTRESS

We've had our Tempurpedic Cloud Supreme for 3 years now and at first it seemed comfortable compared to the Rhapsody we had before this one, but on the first week it had INDENTS and we started waking up with sore backs and muscles, hands numb and feet asleep and tingling and even our heels were sore. Please someone help us and tell us what to do......Gallery Furniture where we purchased both sets will not take it back....they took the Rhapsody back but will not take this one Cloud back......my husband and I are both elderly and need a good nights rest.....we are so distressed and dread going to bed at night.

We sometimes sleep in the spare bedroom but we like our bedroom better, so we suffer for it.

If there is anyone out there that can help us get our money back please come forward. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

sorry to read your post. I think with Tempurpedic you are out of luck.

Maybe you can sell it on craigslist. I started getting lower back pain in the morning after about 3 years sleeping on ours. My wife still likes it, but I sleep better in hotel beds.

Short nights are better for my back. Would not buy tempurpedic again.

We hate our tempur pedicure mattress

I fell down the stairs and I couldn't get comfortable in our regular bed. So my my husband decided to spend more money and get me a tempur pedicure mattress. We tried it out for the 90 day trial, and I was still in a lot of pain. But then I had my third miscarriage, and I missed the 90 day trial deadline. When I called and explained it, they didn't care!! So my husband had spend over $8,000 on a mattress that is making our lives even worse than loosing three babies!! Now all we do is toss and turn all night, and wake up so tired we can't even concentrate during the day. I do not recommend a Temour Pedic mattress to anyone!! It's not as good as they say! Be very careful!!

Your mattress gave you a pedicure? That's amazing!

Guest

I sleep on a Tempur-Pedic Cloud Luxe and it is literally the best thing I have ever purchased. I look forward to going to bed every night, and I dread staying at hotels when I travel for work.

I don't sleep hot, the mattress didn't smell horribly when I bought it, and its well worth the price.

Two of my closest friends also bought Tempur-Pedic after I told them about mine, and they love their mattresses just as much as I do. It's literally amazing.

Looking for a new mattress in Montreal at a decent price has been really tough. Do you have any suggestions on how I can buy a quality mattress at a cheaper price?

Tempurpedic mattress poisoned us with its off-gas

We paid $3200 for a Tempurpedic king-size mattress at HOM Furniture in Bloomington, MN. After two days of sleeping on it (and it WAS the most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on), my wife threw up and developed hives and I had severe diarrhea for 14 hours. Both of us became very dizzy and nauseated, we developed sore throats and our voices became scratchy, and we had to go to a motel for the next two nights. We're back home airing the house out. Since the formula for Tempurpedic foam is proprietary, we don't know what's in it, but I suspect formaldehyde and other poisonous gases. I haven't been able to eat--or especially drink coffee, which exacerbates my symptoms of nausea and dizziness. The store was very nice about picking it back up and allowing us a credit toward the purchase of a new Serta IComfort, which is being delivered.

If you saw the lab results of what these mattresses are made of, you'd probably throw up some more.

You are right it does contain formaldehyde and dozens of other toxic chemicals!

Isn't the I comfort made of the same chemicals????!!!! Are you happy with it?

Not good unless you sleep on your side.

We coughed up the $2500 for a mid range tempurpedic mattress, hoping it would solve our back problems as advertised. Many people love theirs so we thought we'd be okay.

Not so. They will take the mattress back for exchange if you return it before 90 days, but it took us about four months to realize that it was hurting us. When my under-50 husband started rolling out of bed groaning every morning, we realized the bed was damaging us. Your butt sinks further than the rest of you by just enough to put strain on your lower back.

It was agony. We took a huge bath on the thing and had to pretty much give it away. It's one of the most expensive mistakes we've ever made. Replaced it with a Original Mattress Factory ordinary firm and we've been much happier and getting out of bed for years now without the pain and groaning.

We can NOT recommend the tempurpedic mattress in anyway, though we will recommend the memory foam bed pad for those who have pressure point issues with their current mattress. Those give you just enough padding to cushion without contorting your body out of whack.

Skip the Tempurpedic unless you've slept on a friend's for many many weeks. It's cumulative damage and hard to see coming by just a ten minute try out in the store.

We bought the Tempurpedic Rhapsody thinking it was a good investment, and would take care of my lower back pain caused by our aged 'pillow top' which also developed the 'valley of dispair' over the years. With the Tempurpedic, my butt sank down too, and constantly experienced the lower back pain.

How can this be after everything you read about proper spine alignment, bla, bla bla with Tempurpedic?!? After traveling on business and sleeping on a real hotel mattress without any pain, I decided to return the Tempurpedic. Fortunately we dealt with Mattress Firm here in North Texas, and they offer the guarantee for a return within 1 year if not satisfied. It only took 60 days to realize we made a very expensive and painful mistake.

Glad we were able to exchange it for a 'normal' mattress. Foam mattresses may work fine for some people but not for us.

If you do buy, be sure to deal with a reputable dealer directly that will have their own return policy. This turned out to be a not so expensive mistake thanks to Mattress Firm.

TEMPERDIC MATTRESS

WE PURCHASED A BED FROM THESE CRIMINALS 3-4 YEARS AGO IT WAS 3-OR 4,OOO DOLLARS OH WAS IT A GOOD ONE. THEY BLEW ABOUT THERE 20 YEAR DESCENDING WARRANTY, WELL ITS ALREADY SHOT WE SENT IN PICS PROOF OF PURCHASE ETC.

WE HAD WVERYTHING AND DID EVERYTHING MOST PEOPLE DON'T THATS HOW THE CROOKS OPERATE. WE SOON DISCOVERED THAT THE 20 YEAR DESCENDING WARRANTY WAS 50% GONE THE 1ST YEAR. THEY FORGOT TO MENTION THAT AS THEY TOOK OUR MONEY. YES I'M SURE AT THE BOTTOM IN THE SMALLEST PRINT POSSIBLE IT DID SAY THAT.

WHAT A SHAME THEY CAN'T BE FORTHRITE. WE HAVE MAILED E-MAILED COUNTLESS TIMES THEY ARE LIARS AND THEIVES.

NOT A TOUGH FIX UNLESS YOU HAVE NO HONOR.(THEY DON'T) DO NOT EVER BUY THEY ARE MISREPRESENTED OVER PRICED JUNK. SINCERLY STAN VAN DUYN SIOUX FALLS SOUTH DAKOTA.

I just bought my cloud delux, 3 days down and so far ok. still a little stiff, but was told to hang on for 2 months til bliss kicks in. Sleep train has a 100 day guarantee, exchange or money back if we want.

but i agree with BELLHOP, they have a 20yr, 10 full/10 year prorated warranty.

what brand and model bed did you buy? it should be in the bed tags somewhere

Mike Yjg

How is a 20 year prorated warranty gone 50% the first year? Tempurpedic has a 20 year 10 full/ 10 prorated warranty. Are you sure you didnt purchase some off brand ?

Tempurpedic Mattress

My husband and I bought a Tempurpedic mattress a few years ago at the suggestion of friends who loved it. It was great for about 6 months and that was it. We have the same problem as others have mentioned with the sagging sides and the big hump in the middle. We both wake up constantly through the night and are in pain every morning. Unfortunately right now we cannot afford a new mattress. We will try the suggestion about using standard box springs and fibre board. The Tempurpedic company should be investigated for massive fraud! We like the idea of a class action lawsuit. DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT, you (and your back, hips, shoulders...) will come to regret it.

Mrs Jes, I've had my tempurpedic for 8 yrs. Since you have had yours about the same amount of time, I just wondered if you have had any problem with the mattress getting lumps of fibers that collect under the tempur cover and form clumps?

I went back to the store a few months later and they told me I had to take the cover off and vaccuum the mattress. What a mess! I had that stuff all over the carpet and everywhere.

A few months later it was back again. When you look at the bed without the sheets, it is just a mass of lumps.

Have you called the company to file a warranty ... They will replace it free of cost to you ...

I've been sleeping on them for 9 years, and they are awesome ... Mine has been replaced under warranty and was the easiest process I've ever been through ...

call them ... 800-821-****

I believe my Tempur-Pedic has been causing severe allergic reactions to my nervous system, joints and an overall ill feeling throughout my body. When purchased three years ago the bed gave off a disgusting toxic smell for a long time.

My symptoms (swollen joints, numb arms, low back pain, neck pain, anxiety, depression and much more) have been causing me to move home to home! I never thought it could be my BED but it is and was. I do yoga on a regular basis so in no way should I be in such pain and so inflamed all over my body. This has been going on for 3 years and I am really growing weary of this toxic waste dump of a bed.

PLEASE save your health by passing up the memory foam for something non=toxic!

These bads are a danger to the human race and should be illegal. Period.

Tempur-Pedic don't believe the hype!

In August 2006 we purchased a California-king sized Tempur-pedic Cloud Supreme bed set. From the beginning my wife complained about it being hot. At first I refused to agree with her and in the winter time when we have the thermostat set down a bit at night it feels good, but summer is a different story. On top of that within a few months I began to notice it basically began to form permanent indentations on each side where we sleep (exactly what they advertise doesn't happen) and a noticable hump in the middle. After spending over $3000 for this mattress I can only say this is totally unacceptable, yet it took longer than the 90 day trial period for this to materialize. I assume most people that spend this kind of money on a mattress set would expect it to last more that 5 or 6 years, but I can't wait to get rid of it and try something else. CBS, CPA

Dont buy tempurpedic. Bought the Cloud supreme along with ergo base.

I have not stopped itching. The bed is terribly hot. I bought in feb so by the time it was summer then the 90 days was up. I talked with the customer service and they niw refuse to return my calls.

I told then I wanted refund.

I will be paying this bed off the next three years and cant sleep in it. They are crooks!

I agree 100% with #321218 above. We purchased our Temperpedic Rhapsody King mattress & foundation in August 2009.

With delivery, etc., we paid $4200! We LOVED our bed (after the first month or so during the off-gasing and break-in period)...and continued to love it for the first couple of years. For the last 8-10 months, it's been horrible! Permanent indentations on both sides with hump in the middle.

Of course this is not visible, so not eligible for warranty. As soon as we lay down though, you fall in the holes! We are both side-sleepers and a bit overweight, but never have we had a bed fail so completely in such a short period of time - and never have we paid so much for a bed!!

VERY disappointed and upset that we were so gullible to fall for a 20 year warranty. DON'T BUY!!

Tempur-Pedic and back pain!

I needed a new mattress, and now at a slightly advanced age and having arthritis in my shoulder, I thought I would try a Tempur-Pedic mattress to reduce the pressure on the joint at night. I bought a very high end Tempur-Pedic mattress, the "Cloud" at $3,049!, and have slept on it for about 30 nights - as they recommend giving your body a chance to adjust to the new feel. I've been waking with an annoying back pain and sluggish feeling, although I do sleep well through the night. I realized this mattress does not give my back enough support and thus, the back pain. My shoulder feels better, but my back is killing me! So, I'm going with a traditional good quality mattress, with a pillow top mattress cover for more cushioning. I told the sales person "soft on top, but with a firm foundation, and what I got was soft, soft, soft. I'm taking it back.
