TempurPedic in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Terrible Customer Service

I paid $5400 for a split queen adjustable mattress in 6/08. In the last week one of the remote control stopped working one side of the bed. After spending some time on the phone with customer service it was determined that one of the control boxes was bad-and they would be happy to SELL me another control box for $200 plus dollars! I paid way too much in the first place and refuse to pay even more. We hardly use the adjustability features-I'm surprised it quit working already! And when I told customer service rep Elizabeth how unhappy I was and that I would post my dissatisfaction on the internet-she said "OK!" It will be the last time I spend any money with TempurPedic. Buyer Beware!

We too have had trouble with our remotes from the beginning. And now I discover they want $100 a piece for replacements.

Having spent $8500 initially, I would expect customer to be treated more graciously. It makes me feel foolish for spending so much.

Tempurpedic Mattress
I bought a Tempur Pedic, 8 years ago for $1724. after about a month I noticed a lot of lumps under the tempur pedic cover. I unzipped it and there were small fibers clumped together over the entire bed, I went back to the store where I bought it and they told me I...

We have a king tempur pedic. Several years old.

Great at first for me but now I can hardly sleep on it. My husband still sleeps well. The mattress has

a lumpy feel to it now. My side seems lower than his.

I have tried walking on it to spread the

Lump out but it doesn't help for long. Any suggestions?

You can't sleep on these mattresses because they are so HOTTTTTTTT. Hate it. Never recommend, plan to tell everyone I know not to buy. Influenced to buy at friends' and doctor's recommendation. Be sure to buy this mattress from the online site because they have a 90-day return policy which makes sure you can get your money back. They are also coming out with a "cool" rendition of the mattress and that may be helpful but not to us. Try good, firm interspring mattress before you get one of these. Maybe find a hotel with one you like.

Any of you that are reading these threads trying to decide what to buy, you need to take the time to DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH on what you are purchasing. I know this is America but homework did not stop at high school!

This comment regarding tempur's being too hot is just another example of someone raging because they did not do the research prior to just dropping 5k on an item. Memory foam mattresses sleep hotter that traditional mattresses, that is simply a common trait that memory foam shares. I absolutely LOVE my Temp Cloud Supream. I have had it for about 2 years and JUST ordered the ERGO advanced system, that is how happy and confident I am.

You all need to READ ALL the info. Look into the fine print warranty as that is also where a lot of these comments come from. Let me ask you all something...

Where can you find any given item with a 100% 20 year warranty? DO YOU OWN RESEARCH, OR DON'T BE SURPRISED WHEN THINGS DON'T GO YOUR WAY!

Maybe you should take yur anger out on the friend and doctor as well. Why not drop them andtrash talk about them to everyone.

They recommended it to you.

Some people need to grow up and be responsible for their own decisions and stop blaming everyone. That is the problem with our whole society these days....no personal responsibility,

I'm a hot sleeper and I've had no major issues with my Tempur-Pedic as far as heat goes for the most part. The only difference I've noticed is that with a Tempur-Pedic you sleep "in the bed" instead of on-the-bed, thus more surface area of your body touches the bed. Also since you are experiencing better blood circulation as compared to a traditional spring mattress, you might feel some warmth.

That being said I did add an Ultra-Tech Cool Sleep Mattress Protector to my Tempur and I have not noticed any heat issues - even minor - since. Gardner's Mattress and More in Lancaster, PA sells these with a 100% money back guarantee if you don't feel you are sleeping cooler, and they can ship anywhere in the USA.

I've also tried the new Breeze beds from Tempur. These are the ones designed to sleep cooler, and they definitely are cooler. I would only recommend these for the truly hot sleeper or someone with hot-flashes as you sleep noticeably cooler all night.

Tempurpedic Ergo bed is awful

I bought a full size $4000 Tempurpedic Ergo bed about a year ago, and have had nothing but problems. One of the selling points was that Tempurpedic mattresses do not harbor dust mites, and I have a severe dust mite allergy. I find that I usually sleep on the leather sofa, because when I sleep in the Tempurpedic, first of all it raises my body temperature and I constantly wake up sweating. And second of all, I have a headache when I wake up in the morning, and I don't have a headache when I sleep on the leather sofa. Anyway, I recently had an appointment with my allergist, and it was time for allergy testing. And guess what? I tested very very high for dust mites. How could this be? Tempurpedic advertises that their beds do not harbor dust mites. Well, I did some internet research and found out that memory foam mattresses harbor four to five times more dust mites that regular mattresses. And I have the allergy tests to prove it. Tempurpedic's advertising is false and misleading, and I have the allergy tests to prove it. Now--- how do I get my 4000 dollars back?

How is this a review on the ERGO system? This is just another example that people NEED TO DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH PRIOR TO PURCHASE!

ALL memory foam mattresses will sleep hotter than a traditional mattress. It's memory foam!

I know this is America but come on people... Homework did't stop at high school!

Tempurpedic-Bad mattress

I have had my tempurpedic for the last 5 yrs and it is the one that has the massager on it and is an electric bed. Well the massager hasn't worked in a long time and it has been bunching up on the mattress and a huge clump of the mattress at the end of the bed. I have fibromyliaga and chronic fatigue syndrome and need a good bed to sleep in. When my husbands dad died 5 yrs ago and left us some money, he bought the bed exspecially for me for my body. It costed us $7,000. It is suppose to have a life time guarntee so I would like both beds replaced with new ones and a good massager. My # is 775-338-5077 and my name is Kathy Veum-Sorrow. Thanks

Have you checked the connection at the bottom of the bed? Those can come loose, if you slide things under the bed often.

sorry to read your post. I think with Tempurpedic you are out of luck.

Maybe you can sell it on craigslist. I started getting lower back pain in the morning after about 3 years sleeping on ours. My wife still likes it, but I sleep better in hotel beds.

Short nights are better for my back. Would not buy tempurpedic again.

Wish we had done a little more research before we bought ours 5 years ago. Wife likes it, but I completely agree with you.

I naturally sleep on my back, and any night over 7 hours means lower pack pain when I wake up. It's a chore to get up in the morning without waking her. When I sleep 6 hours or less it seems to be less of an issue for my back. Ironically, when I sleep in other beds, or the couch, or camping there is no back pain.

Have to try your trick of sleeping on the side. Maybe a straight piece of wood on top of the Tempurpedic on my side would help...

TempurPedic in Washington, District Of Columbia - Warranty BS for Tempur Pedic

In order to file a claim; photos, info. from the tag and a copy of the store receipt. That is the ONLY way to start a claim on your Tempur Pedic. If it's a sag issue and they see no sag in the photos, your claim will get denied. I was told they don't have the "man power" to come out and look at my $3000.00 mattress. Do not waste your money on this product. I guess I should have done more research before spending that kind of money toward a worthless mattress. Buyer beware I guess.

I was very satisfied with Tempurpedic's warranty. I followed their instructions on how to file a warranty claim and the claim was honored.

I am now waiting for the new bed and foundation.

I am a more than satisfied customer with the entire process.

Your problem is with the store you purchased from. Mattress Firm has come out and examined 2 mattresses for me. They gave me a full refund voucher.

I expected Tempurpedic's warranty service to be terrible, but to my amazement it was just the opposite. We had a replacement mattress and platform 17 days after my initial phone call, and it could have been sooner if I had taken next steps promptly.

Phone responders were friendly and helpful. There was no charge of any kind, including for removal of the old mattress and platform.

Tempurpedic kept its word--I've never encountered anything like it. (Our problem was a permanent indentation of nearly 1 1/2 inches on the old mattress.)

Hey, I am actually trying to place a claim and my email came back. Do you all remember if you emailed the pictures to Myclaims@tempurpedic.com?

#550530

There was a lot I liked about Tempurpedic. All I had to do was decide which one, make a phone call, and they came and took out an old mattress and set up the new.

I received bills and made payments with no interest. Then 7 years later, I noticed it has a dip in the middle. I couldn't find my paperwork but I called and they had my records. They will replace it for free.

Again, just a few phone calls. Had to take a photo with a broom over the mattress to show that there's an indent, and emailed it.

The only down side is the smell but I know last time it lasted about a month and finally went away. I don't mind having windows open so it's not bad.

We've had our mattress for 5 years now, and you can tell where my husband and I lay (each side has noticeable indents). I wanted to call the company to see what could be done, glad I saw this.

With your pictures, did you use a hand-bell weight or just press with your hand to show the "sag"? I'll be calling them to get the process started.

Just got mine replaced without any problems. My only complaint is that the replacement process is slow (more than 3 weeks).

All I had to do was take photos of how far the bed was compressing in one place, and how far it would compress in another place with the same weight. 4-5" difference.

Replaced no questions asked. Just take better pictures.
